Anglicare Dementia Advisory Service

Anglicare’s Dementia Advisory Services supports people living with dementia and their carers across Western Sydney, Nepean, North Sydney, South East Sydney and Illawarra regions. The service aims to provide information, education, enabling strategies and support, to improve the wellbeing of people living with dementia and those who care for them.

The Dementia Advisory Service informs and educates people living with dementia and their carers via home visits and group sessions about dementia and how to live well with dementia. They also conduct information sessions for the general public.

Their services specifically for people living with dementia involve working with the person, their carer, and care workers who support them to implement strategies to maintain feelings of independence and self-worth. They facilitate monthly peer support groups and conduct cognitive stimulation workshops biannually.

For carers, they offer monthly carer support groups and biannual ‘Creative Ways to Care’ workshops. They also coordinate ‘Connection Cafes’ for people living with dementia and their carers. For more information about their upcoming events visit their Eventbrite Page.
